Sony Film | Day 2

Wednesday night, we wrapped up filming with Sony! It was so rewarding to get exposure from a large company! For the last day, the mentees created a mock band called 2 Hot In December to create a story for Jake. Mentee Adlemy got some awesome shots for the band cover and everyone had a great time creating. Jake from Sony Alpha captured the excitement with some video for our short film being created by them! We are so proud of our mentees and how far they have come, as well as The Firehouse Dream for all it has accomplished this past year. We are grateful for the opportunities given and for everyone supporting us along the way! A big thank you to Sony Alpha and Jake!

We are so excited for this week! Tuesday was the first day of Jake from Sony Alpha filming TFD! The team, mentees and board are so happy and honored to have received this grant and opportunity like this for our nonprofit. We are being filmed to highlight our story as an organization and how far we have come within just this past year! It’s like a dream that we are able to partner with a brand like Sony and we now are able to transition to Sony cameras and equipment! This entire experience has been so exciting and a lot of fun. For mentorship, we had a mini-workshop held by Lu’Cretia and worked on editing photos from this past Saturday. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Film Workshop | Production Day

Today the Interns worked with own Co-Founder and Board Member, Jeremy Lopez on all things film! Mariah, one of our Interns, had an opportunity to submit a scholarship video to her cosmetology school for two thousand dollars! The video features Mariah’s cosmetology dreams, but also many of our Interns first ever film shots! Thank you Jeremy for helping Mariah and teaching the Interns film!

Thank you Maya Hill, one of our Interns, for taking wonderful behind the scenes pictures!

Film Workshop | Pre-production

Today Jeremy led the interns on the three steps in film production, in this workshop we learned pre-production. In the course of two and a half hours we collaborated on the most important step in the film making process. As we spent the time planning out a scholarship video for one of our interns, plotting out shots and equipment we would need for the second step in said process. We planned to use a dolly, a teleprompter, and three separate cameras to accomplish the result we intended.
