We hosted community yoga last week for the first time this fall semester. Dasia, proviso resident and yoga instructor, led the participants through a relaxing night flow. The group ended off with some balance poses and light meditation. Join our next Community Yoga October 30th by registering with this link!
Yoga | PMSA's Mental Health Club
Hey neighbors! This week was our last session of workshops with PMSA’s mental health club. For our last workshop, we spent it outside with Proviso native, Dasia. Dasia led the students through a relaxing yoga flow after school. Through the series of poses to the ending rest position, the students had fun! We are excited to celebrate all our 23-24 workshops with the facilitators and students!
Community Yoga
We held our first yoga session for our 2024 programming! This time, we decided to hold a nighttime flow with Dasia of Maywood! Dasia has held local yoga with Maywood’s Park District and also special K-Pop yoga sessions. We are so glad to invite Dasia in!
During this session, Dasia led the group through a series of gentle poses before she got into the flow for tonight. The flow was simple yet effective, using cat and cow poses. In the end, Dasia told us the importance of Shavasana, the entire purpose is to lay still. Although it may be uncomfortable, we must listen to our bodies and provide time for rest, Dasia said.
Thank you to our participants who came out last night!
Community Yoga
We held our last yoga session for our fall 2023 programming! We love how refreshing our Saturday yoga mornings have become. Every session, we start with breath work and then go into the yoga flow. Our next session will be in the spring in April!
Thank you Kathy for another great season of yoga!
Community Yoga
This past weekend we held our first community yoga for this fall! We were excited to see returning and new faces this time around! As always, we started with breathwork and then went into the morning flow led by Kathy Khang. Kathy loves to introduce balance techniques as a part of the flow due to the importance of balance throughout life. Additionally, we did a flow circuit where the same moves are introduced and you create a circuit by doing them one after another, like a routine. This helps stimulate the heart rate but provides amazing stretching!
Thank you Kathy for continuing to share your knowledge and skill! Our next session is Saturday, December 9th, 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM!
