Progress Over Perfection at PMSA Mental Health Club

Another successful week with PMSA’s Mental Health Club! This week, Sarah of Yo Soy Ella, talked with the students on the importance of progress rather than perfection. Especially as students, many can struggle with perfection through academics. Sarah shared the challenges that perfection can take. With a mindset shift, she shared how we can see value in our progress. Sarah is always amazing at connecting with our students.

Thank you Sarah and our participants for coming out! We are so excited to come back next semester with new workshops!

Community Yoga

We held our last yoga session for our fall 2023 programming! We love how refreshing our Saturday yoga mornings have become. Every session, we start with breath work and then go into the yoga flow. Our next session will be in the spring in April!

Thank you Kathy for another great season of yoga!

Money Healing at PMSA Mental Health Club

We are so excited to continue our programming in the Proviso schools! This week, we were at PMSA. Jasmine Lopez our ED and CEO of Mentally Mutual offered her money healing talk to the students. Many came with great conversation and productive feedback for us! We loved to hear their thoughts on their current ideals of money and how to change them to be more positive and reflective of their own boundaries.

Thank you to the students who came and to Jasmine for sharing her wisdom!

Art Therapy at PMSA Mental Health Club

We are so excited to continue offering our programming through mental health club at PMSA. This month, Dana of Paint on Purpose led art therapy for the students. This session, the students painted cacti to resemble growth and purpose. Cacti are able to grow in harsh conditions even without water. Dana created this piece to resemble the how we are always working to a goal and we can still achieve growth even during hard time.

Thank you Dana for extending your resources to the PMSA students and thank you to the students for your participation!

Community Yoga

This past weekend we held our first community yoga for this fall! We were excited to see returning and new faces this time around! As always, we started with breathwork and then went into the morning flow led by Kathy Khang. Kathy loves to introduce balance techniques as a part of the flow due to the importance of balance throughout life. Additionally, we did a flow circuit where the same moves are introduced and you create a circuit by doing them one after another, like a routine. This helps stimulate the heart rate but provides amazing stretching!

Thank you Kathy for continuing to share your knowledge and skill! Our next session is Saturday, December 9th, 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM!
